Day 3 : MUNNAR TO THEKKADY
Munnar to Thekkady 100 km/3 hrs After breakfast check out the hotel and Transfer to Periyar Thekkady Lying close to the plantations, in the rich jungles of Periyar in Thekkady is one of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife reserves - the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forest, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was d a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, the Reserve attracts visitors from all over the world. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar, however, are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake. Day 4 : THEKKADY TO ALLEPPEY
Thekkadi to Allappey 160 km/4 hrs After breakfast check out the hotel from Thekkady and moves to Alleppey Alleppy is one of the most important tourist centre of Kerala. This is said to be “Venice of East”. The boat cruise along the backwaters of Alleppy gives a great experience in life. The other main attraction of Alleppy is that there is a beautiful beach and light house, Lagoons, Lake sides, Canals, etc. . The Alleppy light house began under the rule of Travancore King. Alleppy is famous about its coir business. The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Javaharlal Nehru formed a water race known as ‘Nehru Trophy Boat Race’ is very popular and it held in Punnamada Lake near Alleppy. This is a very attractive and healthy competition conducted every year. Even today it retains its charm as the centre for coir carpet industry and prawn farming. In a single sentence Alleppy is the paradise of tourists. And also you can enjoy Shikara boat cruise. Shikara is a traditional motorized boat with its root covered, however all the sides are open and there are luxurious seats. This is just a miniature of Houseboat. Cochin sightseeing includes, Mattanchery Dutch palace, Jewish Town, Jewish Synagogue, Navy Museum, Fort Cochin Beach, St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Net, Santa Cruz Basilica, Marian Drive Music Walkway, Vallarpadam St. Marys Basilica and boating. You are free to choose your time for shopping. After that drop at CochinAirport.
